This pattern is close to my heart. It’s the second top down sweater that I’ve worked on. I promise you, even when it’s old and tattered, I’m keeping it… it’s sentimental. We all go on this journey in life where we get to find out a little about ourselves and this sweater was one of those moments for me. I absolutely loved working on this one and from here on, I realized I want to work on more. Who would have thought, here I am writing my own blog, years later … dreams do come true… in the weirdest ways with all it’s twists and turns! Back then, I was just a beginner, I guess that’s why I love the saying “Every expert was once a beginner” – not that I’m an expert – I’m learning everyday but that saying resonates with me!
Hoping you enjoy thisπ€ here’s the pattern!

sl st to join to form a ring. Ensure that the chains are not twisted.
Neckline
R1
ch2, hdc all st, sl st to join. R1 = 108, 114, 114, 128 st
R2

R3
ch3, dc all st β work dc1 in each hdc and dc1 in each ch st from the previous round.
Also, increase by 18, 21, 30, 35 dcβs. Space increases evenly in the round. R3 = 126, 135, 144, 153 st
Calculation for 18 increases for a size small
18 goes into 108 = 6 times
Therefore increase at every six stitches for a size small
Calculate accordingly for the other sizes

Yoke / Raglan
2 different colour SM used to mark off sleeves from back and front body and the other to mark off the lace pattern
- Separation between body and sleeves to create raglan sleeves
Place SM (use colour 1 β 4 SMβs) into the st as follows:
- S (23rd, 57th, 105th, 139th) st
- M (29th, 65th, 125th, 161st) st
- L (32nd, 70th, 136th, 174th) st
- XL (34th, 74th, 148th, 188th) st
Steps to align lace pattern vertically along the front of the Cropped Sweater Top using SM colour 2 (3 SMβs):
- Find the front body. That would be between SM2 and SM3.
- Find the centre st between the two SMβs.
- Mark the centre st using a SM, preferably one of a different colour as stated above.
- The lace pattern uses 9 stitches for each little block, therefore count 4 stitches on either side of the centre SM and mark those stitches with a SM each.
- From the first SM to the third SM, there would be 9 stitches .
- Remove the centre SM as it is no longer needed.
