Looking for projects that are easy, completed in a jiffy, beginner friendly and makes use of left over yarn? Well, you are at the right place… Make this little heart that will be complete in minutes. Use leftover over yarn, be it cotton or acrylic – double knit/ category 3/ light worsted. Choose to make it 2D as an ornament for a Christmas tree or stuff it, make a keychain, whatever it may be, all I want is to share this pattern with you… so, from me to you…. here go’s
For this projest, you will need:
- Yarn/wool – Acrylic Catergory3/ Light worsted/ Double Knit OR 4ply – as mentioned above leftovers are ideal
- 3mm Crochet hook
- Scissors
- Yarn/ Wool needle
- Stuffing (optional)
By looking at the materials list above, you’ve noticed that I’m using a 3mm crochet hook with the Double Knit yarn and that’s all because I want to tighten up on the stitches. By going one size down on the recommended hook that’s listed on the yarn label, it helps tighten up on the stitches. If you are using 4ply, keep to the 3mm hook. The difference between the double knit and the 4ply is the end result – the size of the heart is smaller with the 4ply.
Now for the stuffing, again you’ve noticed that I’ve listed it as optional. I don’t want you rushing off to buy stuffing if you only plan on making one or a few of these little hearts. If you work projects like these all the time and use stuffing often then by all means buy it but if you don’t then don’t fret, just use leftover yarn to stuff the little heart! I’ve done both and personally I prefer stuffing with leftover yarn in the same color as the heart as you don’t get to see flecks of white stuffing through the stitches! Hope this helps.
Now for everything in-between, scissors and yarn needle. I’m going to take it for granted that these are staples in every home😉

Now we have formed the heart shape. This is where you decide to leave it as is with a little loop or you could go further and work another little heart and have it stuffed.
If you choose to stop here, pull up a little yarn to form a loop. Cut of excess yarn and weave in all the ends.
To continue to stuff the heart —-> Join both hearts by stitching all around. Remember to get in all those tail ends into the heart – Leave a small opening to stuff – fill in the stuffing and seam to close the heart completely. Form a little chain and attach to heart to form a loop. Sew in all the tail ends into the heart to loose them.
There you go… you have made a little heart
